Unless you’re OK seeing your reflection from the glass ceiling, it’s no longer enough to be a marketer who only specializes in one stream of work. Call it integrated marketing, omnichannel, or just marketing, but the rockstar marketing strategists are the ones with the “V.”

Though a rare bird, a “V-shaped marketer” is someone who has has working knowledge in several core competencies of marketing while possessing deep specialization in a particular area — making them the ideal strategist.

I file this newsletter in the “inspiration” category. If you want to be Wowed and see examples of clever (goal-driven) campaign, this is a great newsletter.

3. Search Engine Journal

This is another “all inclusive” digital marketing digest. I recommend subscribing to either Marketing Land or the Search Engine Journal since these are in the same family along with Martech.

5. Think With Google

Of course Google makes the top 5. This newsletter is about keeping a pulse of your customer through research, industry perspectives, and case studies. Pro tip: make sure to follow your region since these are global insights. You can also follow via Twitter @thinkwithgoogle
